International Radio & Audio and Television & Video Virtual Event
2nd – 6th November 2020

In place of this year’s International Radio & Audio and Television & Video Conferences, we are delighted to announce we will be running a virtual event in November to give the asi community an opportunity to come together to share research and experiences and to act as a bridge through to the 2021 Conferences, which we very much hope can be conducted under normal circumstances.

We are planning to run five 90-120 minute online sessions across the week of Monday 2nd to Friday 6th November 2020. Those of you who attended our joint online event with ESOMAR back in May will know that this approach worked well. Across the five days we will also release additional material – video interviews and presentations related to each session. The sessions will also be available for catch-up viewing for those who have timezone challenges.

The five sessions we have in mind currently are as follows:
Monday 2nd November – Audio
Tuesday 3rd November – Content and distribution
Wednesday 4th November – Advertising
Thursday 5th November – Measurement science
Friday 6th November – Cross-media measurement

We are now looking for feedback from the asi community about the themes that you feel should be featured and any projects or initiatives that you are involved in which may be of interest. There is a lot going on currently, even without the challenges of conducting research during – and about – the ‘new normal’! Cross-media measurement initiatives are the subject of heated debate, new measurement contracts are being contested and awarded, metrics beyond exposure are championed and alternatives to face-to-face interviewing have leapt up the agenda. Your early guidance has been vital in shaping past events, so please do let us know your thoughts on possible content – you can contact us here.

In terms of budgeting for the event, although delegates will have to register, we are not planning to charge for attendance. This is a vital time for the media research industry and we feel that it is important that as many people as possible are able to attend and share ideas. We see this as a service to the community to contribute to the future success of our industry. Details for registering will be released nearer the time, so please do not try to register until then.
