Securing the future of Radio and Audio in connected vehicles

As connected television sets (CTV) become the latest battleground for TV and video inside the home, outside the home connected vehicles have brought welcome opportunities and new challenges to the consumption of radio and audio media. How is the industry responding?

Our most recent International Radio & Audio Conference in Copenhagen last November examined one of the first collaborations in Europe.

Tobias Nielsen of Bauer Media Audio and Tomas Granryd of Sveriges Radio and EBU introduced us to Radio Ready, a collaborative industry initiative. It’s mission? Working with broadcasters, platforms and partners to ensure radio remains easy to find, simple to use and visually engaging in the connected car dashboard. Their presentation – available to view below – presents a strong signal of growing alignment across the industry committed to securing radio’s place in the evolving in-car experience.

You can find out more about how to get involved from the Radio Ready website and LinkedIn page, including a showcase of the Connected Journeys ad campaign that ran across 15 markets reaching 180 million weekly listeners.

As the in-car experience becomes ever more connected, the way listeners access audio is being redefined.  We’ll explore this more at our 2026 asi International Radio & Audio Conference on 4th November in Venice, Italy.
